The Kindergarten in the Cruzeşti village, Chisinau municipality, was inaugurated today, on October 19, 2018, after the institution was rehabilitated and modernized for money from the grant provided by the Government of Romania, and administered by the Moldova Social Investment Fund. The event was attended by the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, Elena Belei, MSIF Executive Director, Mircea Esanu, representatives of parliaments of Romania and the Republic of Moldova, of the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau, as well as reprezentatives of local public authorities.

At the beginning of the event, Secretary of State Elena Belei thanked the Romanian Government for its substantial contribution to the renovation and equipping of kindergartens in the Republic of Moldova, which contributes to the development of rural communities. "Ensuring access to quality early childhood education is the national priority based on knowing and satisfying the educational needs of children. By rehabilitating schools and kindergartens we actually invest in the education of our children," the official said.

In his turn, Bogdan Ionel Rodeanu, the President of the Joint Commission for European Integration between the Parliament of Romania and the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, being present at the event, declared that the Republic of Moldova remains a priority for Romania. "This educational complex is still developing, because there will be one more group of children. We have already exceeded 845 projects that Romania has funded directly with a scope of rehabilitation and equipping of such pre-school institutions. We're glad that it became a real success, and those, who need it, feel it so good. Romania is directly involved in the technical and financial assistance it provides both in the educational field and in other fields related to the progress and welfare of citizens of the Republic of Moldova", the Romanian MP concluded.

The kindergarten no. 224 in the Cruzeşti village, Chisinau municipality, was located in an old edifice, which is the former house for young specialists. The institution did not have a kitchen-canteen. The food was delivered in buckets from the canteen of the town gymnasium.
In 2016, the primaria of Cruzeşti submitted to MSIF a Grant Application requesting the allocation of funds for the reconstruction of the first floor of the gymnasium to be used by the kindergarten. The gymnasium had a capacity of 300 children, but was attended by only 100 children.

"The edifice was built in 1976 with 2 levels and the total area of 2272 m2, 700 m2 of which (the area of Ist level) were adapted for the kindergarten with a capacity of 100 children (4 groups). The Kindergarten in the Cruzeşti village benefited from works amounting to 1 949 583 lei, 1 500 000 lei of which have been contributed by the Romanian Government, and the local contribution being of 449 583 lei", MSIF Executive Director, Mircea Eşanu, said.

As the result of implementation of the subproject, the following civil works were carried out at the kindergarten: installation of new windows and doors, interior and exterior civil works, repair of the heating and ventilation system, water and sewage system, electrical networks.
At present, the kindergarten is attended by 69 children (3 groups) aged 3-7 years. A new age group is expected to be opened.
