Another 244 kindergartens in the Republic of Moldova will be renovated with the financial support of Romania. In this respect, the amount of EUR 3 million was disbursed. The money is intended for the renovation and modernization of the preschool institutions within the " Program of Technical and Financial Assistance provided by the Government of Romania to preschool institutions in the Republic of Moldova" managed by the Moldova Social Investment Fund (MSIF).

Depending on the needs of beneficiary institutions, furniture will be procured, roofs, canteens and bathroom units will be repaired. At the same time, tutorial materials will be procured, playgrounds, festive and sports halls will be build.

In 2010, the Governments of Chisinau and Bucharest signed an Agreement on the Implementation of the Program of Technical and Financial Assistance on the basis of non-reimbursable financial aid in the amount of 100 million euro, granted by Romania to the Republic of Moldova.

So far, over 845 kindergartens (about 940 sub-projects) have been renovated within the "Program of Technical and Financial Assistance provided by the Government of Romania to preschool institutions in the Republic of Moldova".
