
Beneficiaries of the “Social infrastructure and energy efficiency” Program, Phase II, financed by the German Development Bank KfW, had today, July 22, an online communication with the managers of the Program by means of the videoconference organized by PI “Moldova Social Investment Fund” within the mission of monitoring and final evaluation of implemented subprojects.
Discussions from the KfW delegation were attended by: Mrs. Anna Christina Schirmer, Senior Project Manager, Urban and Regional Development Eastern Europe, Caucasus, Central Asia, KfW Frankfurt, Mr. Michael Pucher, Senior Engineer, Urban and Regional Development, Eastern Europe, Caucasus, Central Asia, KfW Frankfurt, and Mr. Sergiu Guțu, local representative of KfW Moldova.
In their presentations, project beneficiaries spoke about implementation stages of subprojects: identification of priority issue through discussions with different categories of population, approvement of the subproject proposal at the Local Council meeting, submition of the grant application to the PI MSIF according to the "first-come-first-served” principle, monitoring the progress of the civil works executed by the contractor. Ensuring sustainability of the renovated facilities and the budget they have to cover operational and maintenance costs was a separate topic addressed in the discussion.
Members of the German Bank KfW delegation positively appreciated the effort and role of local public administrations and Implementing Agencies in mobilizing and activating community at all stages of subproject implementation, mentioning good organization, fairness and transparency of all activities.
In return, beneficiaries of projects expressed gratitude and sincere thanks to the Government of the Republic of Germany, German people and, in particular, the German Development Bank KFW for their continued support in implementation of social infrastructure projects for citizens of the Republic of Moldova.
Note: 235 infrastructure subprojects worth 11.65 million Euros, granted by to the Ministry of Development and Economic Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Germany through the Development Bank „Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW)” to the Republic of Moldova, have been implemented during the period 2005 - 2020 within the German Financial Cooperation with the Republic of Moldova with the technical assistance of the PI “Moldova Social Investment Fund”.
