The Romanian Government continues to invest in education in our country. Thanks to donations made by the authorities from other bank of the Prut river, children from Braila village, Bachoi community, Chisinau municipality will go to a new kindergarten next year. It is being built from scratch and will be much more spacious, for 70 children. Civil works have already begun, and the building may be completed by the fall.
Diana AMBROS, PRO TV REPORTER: “The foundation of the future kindergarten is almost ready. The building will have two floors. Several groups and a kitchen will be in the first level. There will also be a hall for celebrations. 70 children will have the possibility to attend this institution."
Local authorities say that the new building will be ready in two years. Now children from Braila village attend the old kindergarten, built 50 years ago.
Due to the lack of spaces, there are only two groups in the institution, attended by 39 children.
Ecaterina GARAVAJIU, THE DIRECTOR OF THE KINDERGARTEN IN BRAILA: "About 40 meters.
- Is this room forty meters?
- Yes Yes. It's 38, 39 and that's it. The bedroom is a little bigger, but here's the group room and the music room. ".
Angela Bozianu has been working as a teacher in this kindergarten for 20 years and admits that the building is falling apart every year.
Angela BOZIANU, KINDERGARTEN TEACHER: “It is old, the ceiling is in a very poor condition, as well as the roof. It is raining in premises of the kindergarten."
The facility lacks food warehouses, a hall for celebrations and an isolated space needed during a pandemic. The kitchen has not been in line for a long time either.
Ekaterina GARAVAGIU, THE DIRECTOR OF THE KINDERGARTEN IN BRAILA: "During the year we replenished the number of refrigeration equipment, stoves, electrical equipment, we have a lot to work with, it is bad to say, but there are no conditions ..."
Also there is the village library, the first-aid station and the post office in the building of the kindergarten. Some villagers say that their children do not attend the village kindergarten, because there are no places there, also conditions leave much to be desired.
“We had to go to the city, there were no places here. While we needed a kindergarten, it was problematic with places here, we are very happy from the bottom of our hearts for those who will attend the new kindergarten."
Civil works started a week ago. According to the project, the building will be erected and facade works will be completed by autumn.
And it will cost over 4 million lei, while the contribution of the Romanian Government is almost 2 million 150 thousand, and that one from the Bachoi Village Hall is more than two million one hundred thousand.
Ilie LAHU, THE MAYOR OF BACHOI COMMUNITY: “The second stage provides for turnkey interior finishing, all distribution networks, equipment, assurance of the proper functioning of the institution and landscaping of the adjacent territory. We are ready to contribute 3.4 million lei of about eight million lei of total amount for the continuation of the project, depending on how much the Chisinau Municipal Council can invest”.
The Romanian Government has allocated about 29 million euros for the renovation and equipping of kindergartens in the Republic of Moldova. More than a thousand kindergartens have been repaired for these funds. The institution chosen for the implementation and management of the Program is the Moldova Social Investment Fund (MSIF).
