900 + 1 kindergartens from Moldova renovated with the support of the Romanian Government

The Kindergarten in Zamcioji village, Straseni rayon, renovated for money from the grant provided by the Romanian Government, was inaugurated on Thursday, November 02, 2017. Guests took a tour of the kindergarten and children presented an artistic program. At the end, they planted saplings, which will form the Alley of Friendship between Romania and Moldova. The pre-school institution is attended by 68 children aged between 2 and 7 years.

 

The event was attended by Vasile Bîtca, the Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment of the Republic of Moldova, Daniel Ioniţă, the Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Moldova; a delegation made up of 7 MPs and senators from the Parliament of Romania, Mircea Esanu, the Executive Director of the Moldova Social Investment Fund, Petru Rabdau, the Mayor of the locality, kindergarten employees, parents and children.

 

 

According to Mircea Esanu, the Executive Director of MSIF, the kindergarten in the Zamcioji village is one of over 900 kindergartens that have been renovated with the generous support of the Romanian Government. The roof and the façade were completely renovated, the water drainage system, the pavement and the playground for children were constructed for about 1 million 400,000 lei invested in this institution.

 

Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, Vasile Bîtca, said: "The Ministry, I am in charge of, manages 100 million euros provided by Romania as a grant, 26 million of which were assigned for the renovation of preschool institutions. I am happy for every parent in our country, who has an opportunity to take their children to a renovated, well-equipped kindergarten offering good conditions for their education, such as Zamcioji kindergarten has."

 

 

Bogdan Rodeanu, the Member of the Romanian Parliament, the member of the Joint Commission for European Integration between the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and the Parliament of Romania, said: "Today we celebrate here the education. It is not only a renovated kindergarten equipped with Romania's efforts, but also an additional confirmation that the reform and steps towards European integration of the Republic of Moldova continue, by focusing on its future. We want to continue to actively support and be close to the Republic of Moldova, to pay attention to those little, to pay attention to education and to face with the same confidence our European path."

Information about the Project

 

The Government of Romania has allocated 26 million euros for the renovation and equipping of kindergartens in the Republic of Moldova through the "The Program of technical and financial assistance provided by the Romanian Government for preschool institutions in the Republic of Moldova". 933 kindergartens from Moldova have, benefited from these funds.

 

The grant provided by the Government of Romania is managed by the Moldova Social Investment Fund (MSIF).
MSIF is an institution founded 20 years ago with the support of the World Bank and donor countries in order to contribute to the development of the Republic of Moldova by managing external assistance.
