During the event, Ambassador and the Executive Manager of MSIF, being helped by children, participated in the decoration of the Christmas tree and in lighting up holiday lights. Children expressed their gratitude by singing, dancing and reciting poems.

Daniel Ionita, the Romanian Ambassador to Moldova said: "I have specific positive emotions. When we see the joy of children, when we see gratitude in parents’ eyes, it is impossible not to be happy. Today we had also the opportunity to decorate the Christmas tree, and I find the idea of the MSIF as a very good one, because on Christmas Eve all together we are decorating the Christmas tree and sing around the Christmas tree. I think that this kindergarten is one of the most beautiful buildings not only in this locality, but also in the entire region. And here the funds were also well spent. We are happy that all who comes here to learn can enjoy a better life."
The renovated kindergarten in the Tocuz village, Causeni rayon, was reopened after 22 years due to funds allocated by the Romanian Government. 2.7 million lei from the grant, provided by the Romanian Government, were allocated for the renovation of the institution. This amount was determined for the completion of works and reopening of the kindergarten. Currently the preschool institution is attended by 263 children.

The roof of the whole building was reconstructed, the facade was renovated, new doors and windows were installed for this money in the kindergarten in Tocuz village. Floors and walls were renovated in all premises of the kindergarten and new furniture was purchased . Also, the heating system has been installed and bathroom units have been arranged. The water supply and sewerage systems have been reconstructed, and the kitchen and laundry were fully equipped.
Mircea Eşanu, the Executive Manager of the Moldova Social Investment Fund, said: "This project was both, an honor and a great responsibility, for MSIF as the manager of funds, provided by the Romanian Government. We are concluding the year really good, with great achievements, and this kindergarten is one of those good examples that highlights our efforts to manage as possible fair, transparent, and effective the funds provided by Romanian taxpayers. The contribution granted to this institution was determined for the completion and reopening of 12 groups of children."

The Mayor of the village, Alexander Turcan, thanked the Ambassador for the support provided by the Government of Romania and the Moldova Social Investment Fund for the support during the project implementation. "The time, when the kindergarten was not operating, was a difficult period for residents of our village. Children from the village were playing in yards, because parents did not have anyone to leave them with. We had many tragic cases due to the fact that children used to be left with neighbors, grandparents or even themselves. I want to thank personally Mr. Ambassador and Mr. Eşanu for their contribution, and that they didn’t allow us to remain alone face to face with problems, and that provided us with the financial support and, that they have been at our side."
