Today, June 9, 2020, the team of the Public Institution "Moldova Social Investment Fund" paid a monitoring visit to the construction site of the "A. Doljnenko" Theoretical Lyceum in Vulcanesti town, ATU Gagauzia.
The Institution is in the process of capital improvements within the "Moldova Education Reform" Project financed by the World Bank, managed by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research and implemented by the PI MSIF.Civil works at the site are carried out according to the schedule and in complience with the protection measures against spreading of COVID-19 virus.By the beginning of the new school year, renovation of the building will be completed. Thus, pupils and teachers will benefit from quality conditions for carrying out the educational process.
The following civil works are being carried out within the Project:
- replacement of joinery in Section I (windows, external and internal doors, platbands, cornices);
- replacement of joinery in Section II (windows, external and internal doors, platbands, cornices, interna land external windowsills);
- interior repair works in premises in Section I (floors, wall plastering, tiling of steps, ceilings, roof insulation;
- roof repair in Section II – school gym (consolidation of metal trusses, plastering ceilings, roof thermal insulation);
- eхterior repair works in Section I (curbs, downpipes, porch canopy, facade plastering, platbands, gutters, ramps, walls, blind area, thresholds, socle facing);
- installation of the heating system in Section I, Stage I;
- installation of the internal network of water supply and sewerage systems - *Section I*;
- replacement of the lectric wiring in Section I;
- replacement of the ventilation system in *Section I*;
- installation of the fire alarm burglar alarm systems in *Section I*;
- installation of the automation system - Section I;
- construction of the eхternal network of water supply and sewerage systems;
The cost of executed civil works is - 11 265 491, 16 lei.

In total, within the A.2 component of the "Moldova Education Reform Project" financed by the World Bank and managed by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, through the PI "Moldova Social Investment Fund" 17 general educational institutions will be renovated.Currently, civil works have been finalized in 4 out of the total number of subprojects, 11 educational institutions are at the stage of renovation, 1 institution - at the stage of evaluation of tender results and 1 institution - in the process of preparing the estimate . By the beginning of a new schoolyear, the renovation process will be completed in 8 general schools.
