The process of rayon schools renovation, selected within the "Education Reform in Moldova" Project (ERMP), continues. Within the period between March 2 and March 4, during visits on documentation of renovation process of educational institutions, Mrs. Lucia Casap, World Bank's education operations officer and Mr. Simion Sâli, the PI MSIF consultant in technical evaluation and monitoring visited 8 objects undergoing renovation:
1. TL “M. Eminescu”inAnenii Noi town.
2. TL “M. Eminescu” in Straseni town.
3. TL “I. L. Caragiale” in Orhei town.
4. TL “A. Agapie” in Pepeni village, Singerei rayon
5. LT "P.Rares" in Soroca town
6. TL “S. Holban” in Carpineni village, Hincesti rayon
7. TL “V. Alecsandri” in Colibas village, Cahul rayon
8. TL “A. Doljnenco” in Vulcăneşti town
Managers of educational institutions, teachers, representatives of local public administrations, representatives of construction companies, technical managers took part in these visits from the side of beneficiaries of projects.
During visits issues regarding the observance of the work schedule by contractors, safety measures at work and, in particular, with regard to children in schools, where construction sites are, observance of the Environmental Management framework in the process of renovation works execution have been addressed. At the same time, beneficiaries of the Project, participants in discussions, mentioned achieved results so far within the Project, work prospects and expected results.
Regarding the progress of completing the volume of works, the following was noted:
1. TL "Mihai Eminescu" in Straseni town. - 49% contract execution, the term of the contract - 30.06.2020;
2. TL "Mihai Eminescu" in Anenii Noi town. - 0% contract execution, contract signed on 19.02.2020, contract term 19.03.2021;
3. PI Theoretical Lyceum "Ion Luca Caragiale", Orhei municipality – civil works have been finished, the guarantee stage is undergoing now;
4. TL "Alexandru Agapie" in Pepeni village, Singerei rayon - 50% contract execution, contract term 30.06.2020;
5. TL "Petru Rares" in Soroca town - 0% contract execution, contract signed on 31.01.2020, term of the contract 28.02.2021;
6. TL "Stefan Holban" in Carpineni village, Hîncești rayont - 50% contract execution, term of the contract 30.06.2020;
7. TL "Vasile Alecsandri" in Colibași village, Cahul rayon - 33% contract execution, term of the contract 30.06.2020;
8. TL "Doljnenco Agents" in Vulcanesti town - 44% contract execution, term of the contract 30.06.2020.
In total, within the component A.2 of the "Education Reform in Moldova" Project funded by the World Bank and managed by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, through PI " Moldova Social Investment Fund" 17 regional educational institutions will be renovated, and the investment for each lyceum will amount up to $700,000. At the moment, 4 sub-projects are finished, 11 are in the process of renovation, 1 institution is at the tender stage and 1 institution is in the process of technical project elaboration out of the total number of sub-projects.
