
The renovation of general schools under the Component A.2 of the “Moldova Education Reform” Project (MERP) funded by the World Bank, managed by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research and implemented by the Public Institution “Moldovan Social Investment Fund” is in full swing.
Today, June 9, 2020, the team of the Public Institution "Moldova Social Investment Fund" took part in working session at the construction site of the "Vasile Alecsandri" Theoretical Lyceum in Colibasi village, Cahul rayon.
Valentina Șevcenco, the Vice-Chairman of Cahul rayon, Ion Dolganiuc, the community Mayor, Ana Grigoriţă, the Director of "Vasile Alecsandri" TL, Nicolae Botnariuc, the technical manager, representatives of the construction company ÎM PRO EX 2005 SRL took part in the discussion on behalf of subproject beneficiaries.
The discussion was focused on the activities related to the monitoring of the subproject implementation schedule. It was found that works at the construction site are carried out according to the schedule in compliance with the protection measures against the spread of COVID-19 virus. By the beginning of the new school year, repair works will be completed, and this will allow pupils and teachers to carry out the educational process in the renovated premises.
The cost of the contract is 11 384 693, 31 lei and includes the following civil works:
- replacement of joinery;
- interior repair works (walls, ceilings, floors);
- eхterior repair works (walls,balustrade, thresholds,ramp,canopies);
- installation of the heating system;
- installation of the internal network of water supply and sewerage;
- replacement of the lectric wiring;
- installation of the ventilation system;
- installation of the fire alarm burglar alarm systems;
- construction of the boiler house and eхternal of heat supply network;
- construction of the water treatment plant;
- arrangement of the adjacent territory.
Currently, the PI MSIF monitors the development of renovation works carried out in compliance with sanitary and epidemiological requirements in 11 educational institutions benefiting from investments within the "Moldova Education Reform" Project (MERP).
In total, within the "Moldova Education Reform" Project 17 general educational institutions will be renovated, and investment in each lyceum wiil amount up to 700 thousand US dollars. Currently, civil works have been finalized in 4 institutions of the total number of subprojects, 11 educational institutions are at the stage of renovation, 1 institution - at the stage of bids evaluation and 1 institution - in the process of preparing the estimate . By the beginning of a new schoolyear, the renovation process will be completed in 8 general schools.
