VIDEO | THE KINDERGARTEN IN DONDUSENI TOWN BECAME WARMER WITH THE HELP FROM THE GERMAN GOVERNMENT

Instead of film in windows, they have got quality insulated windows, and the little ones no longer have to put on a lot of clothes so as not to feel cold. Three years ago, the kindergarten "Luceafărul" in Donduseni town became much warmer thanks to the German Government, which allocated almost 1,400,000 lei to the preschool institution. Walls of the kindergarten have been insulated, and windows and roof have been replaced.

"When there were no new windows, all old windows were covered with film on inside. And they rumbled with every gust of wind. But since the kindergarten was renovated, and double-glazed windows have been installed, the heat is maintained longer and it is better for children as well as teachers”, Rodica Padnevici, the kindergarten teacher, says.

The kindergarten was built in 1982. Due to lack of funds, it had reached a deplorable state. Following the renovation works, optimal conditions for the education and development of children have been created in the institution.

"First of all, it became much warmer in kindergarten. Children come in winter and can undress remainingthinly clad and it is more convenient for them to perform physical activities. Plus, there is more light and it is better. During the day it has a very good impact, because more light is penetrating in premises through new windows, there is no film on them as it was before and we do not have the risk of the windows falling on our heads", Ala Rotaru, methodologist, said.

"The terrmal insulation has a very good and significant impact. First of all, conditions have improved, it has become more comfortable and warmer. Also parents are satisfied with changes in our kindergarten", Ala Tărîță, the kindergarten teacher, says.

Townsmen are happy with conditions created for little ones.

"It is very well repaired and very warm. There are wallpapers in the kindergarten, windows are good, they were replaced after the renovation. Yes, it was important for children, now it's warm for them”

"It is important to repair the kindergarten, this is for our children, this is the future of Moldova. Beautiful, very beautiful compared to what it was, very beautiful.”

After walls of the kindergarten were insulated, first savings were registered in the institution's budget.

"Thermal insulation of the kindergarten was important, because we saved a lot and the institution is very warm. In each group the temperature reaches 22 degrees. Of course, we also saved a lot of money. Parents are of course very happy, because bringing children to kindergarten they know that leave them safe and in warm conditions", Valentina Corostoschi, the manager, said.

The kindergarten was renovated with the support of Germany, through the Moldova Social Investment Fund, which allocated almost 1.4 million lei. The local public administration, also some residents, came with contributions. Thus, the total investments exceeded the amount of 2 million lei.

"The"Luceafărul"kindergarten exists since 1982, windows of that time were already so used that  birds made their nest in them. Within the MSIF program, we submitted an application and it was accepted. In the end, the Local Public Administration came with a contribution of over 600 thousand lei. I also want to thank citizens who came with a fairly good contribution in the amount of 50 thousand lei", Ivan Belciug, the Mayor of the Donduseni town, added.

Currently, the "Luceafărul" kindergarten in Donduseni is attended by 237 children.
